How are drawer slides classified depending on the movement mechanism?

The heavy duty drawer slides differ from each other based on the materials used as follows.

Wooden slides

As the name suggests, these slides would be made of wood and they would be helpful when the entire containment is made of wood. It would be suitable for lightweight applications and when the aesthetic value of the slider is vital. Although wooden slides could look better, you could not expect them to be smooth always. At times, they would get stuck or there could be some other issues when you try to open or close it. When the humidity is higher in the atmosphere, there are chances for the wooden slides to get sticky. So, you should avoid using wooden slides when you are searching for a slider for something critical. They were helpful in the past when no metallic sliders were there.

Roller slides

These slides would consist of metallic plates instead of wooden slides. You will find the application of two metallic profiles, one stuck to the drawer and another on the frame. However, as the metallic frames could do nothing to move the containment, they would employ some nylon balls between the two metallic sheets or profiles. When the user pushes or pulls the drawer, the containment would move freely with the help of balls present inside.

Ball-bearing slides

These are the latest and efficient types of slides that would help you move the drawer with the help of ball bearings instead of any other devices. Ball bearings could promise you a smooth movement of the slides. If you prefer a single-piece movement, you can choose a progressive bearing slide. Else, a telescopic slide could help you with segmental movement. heavy duty drawer slides
